Kana Nagai
Born on June 16, 1997, in Tokyo.
Influenced by her father, a restaurant owner, she began playing golf and first made her mark by competing in the Japan Women's Amateur Golf Championship in 2010 during her first year of junior high school. In 2012, she secured victories at national-level tournaments, including the Ryo Ishikawa Cup Junior Championship and the Rolex Junior Championship. That same year, she drew significant attention at the regular tour's Yonex Ladies Golf Tournament, where she started the first day in third place and ultimately finished as the low amateur (32nd overall).
She claimed consecutive titles at the Kanto Women's Amateur Championship in 2013 and 2014, and also excelled as a member of the JGA National Team. After turning professional in 2016, she achieved her long-awaited first tour victory the following year at the Hisako Higuchi Mitsubishi Electric Ladies Golf Tournament in 2017.
Continuing to compete at the top and consistently maintaining her tour card, she delivered a spectacular performance at the MinebeaMitsumi Ladies Hokkaido Shimbun Cup in 2026, setting a tournament course record of 63. Demonstrating overwhelming strength with a total score of 19-under-par, she dramatically secured her second career tour win, marking her first victory in nine years.
Despite her petite stature, her playstyle is defined by powerful and highly consistent shots, driven by her exceptional core strength. She is a highly accomplished golfer poised for even greater success in the future.
